a dear friend recently gave birth to her first baby.  a little boy named isaac andrew.

he is sweet + precious + snuggly.  and has already brought his mama an abundance of  joy + love.

when she asked me to come and photograph their first few days together, i was touched.

when she told me she really wanted the focus of our session to be on the relationship between her and her husband and their newborn son, i was thrilled.

it is what i love to do.

it is what suits my style best.

because my favorite way to photograph, is to put my clients in a space that is comfortable, so that i can stand back + simply allow things to unfold.

organically, naturally, beautifully…

after our escapades throughout the city, we decided to head back to their home to capture some moments of the little ones in their own rooms. though i adore photographing on location outside of the home, one of my favorite places to photograph is actually at home…little ones love showing off their treasures + favorite spots and it lends a comfortable feel to the images that just isn’t always easy to express when wandering around in the big, wide world.

i adored everything about this family session…

from the beautiful sights of the city to their gorgeous home, we spent a good portion of the morning heading to and from different locations in chicago. the little ones were troopers, hanging in there for the four and a half hours we spent together + loving (nearly) every moment….full of curiosity + wonder, turning the entire experience into an exciting adventure.

yes, the girls are triplets + they are not much younger than my own…though he is only two, their little brother keeps up with them amazingly.

and their parents?

beautiful + patient + kind, hearts overflowing with love for their family + the city they call home.

part two can be found here
