good morning!

or afternoon, evening, middle of the night even…regardless of when you are stopping by, welcome!

i know your days are busy…full of to do lists, commitments and the people you love, so i’ll do my best to keep it sweet + simple.  but i do want to tell you a bit about myself, and more importantly why i chose to become a professional photographer…

i am wife, a daughter, a sister…a momma to four. i had my oldest daughter when i was just a baby myself, and my youngest three were all born on the same day. i know how quickly life can slip through our fingers; it’s what i live + breathe every single day. raising an older daughter alongside itty bitty babies taught me what is worth remembering.

and surprisingly (or not), it’s the little things. the things you think you will remember. whether wrapped up in an ordinary day or a woven into grand moment, it is always the little things. and it was my desire to grab hold of those little things that launched my professional photographic career.

someday you will look back fondly on the ordinariness of today and say, ‘i wish we had taken a moment out of our busyness to capture that moment.’ like the way she looks at you when you aren’t paying attention, or how his hand always seems to find the small of your back. the obsession she has with hello kitty band-aids, or the shoe of his that always seems to be untied.

our days are made up of a series of beautiful moments, from the seemingly insignificant to the monumentally profound, that when strung together, create the stories of life. my mission is to tell those stories.

but, instead of using words, i use photographs.  images that tell a story about falling in love, a story about welcoming a new life into this world or a story about a family in the middle of happy chaos.

if you would like to work with me, to have me tell the story of your life…you can reach me at rachael@rachaelmariephotography.com or 309.531.8706.

you can also find me on facebook, pinterest + twitter.

xoxo…
